Awarded 2009 CFO of the Year
Liberty Bank, N.A. announced today the bank’s CFO and COO Richard C. Ebner has been honored as the winner of the Crain’s Cleveland Business CFO of the Year Award for small, privately held businesses. The CFO of the Year Award honors excellence in leadership and salutes top financial professionals for their dedication and strategic leadership in guiding the future of Northeast Ohio businesses. Since Mr. Ebner has come on board, the bank has seen improvement in nearly all of its financial measurements. Efficiency ratios have surpassed industry averages and asset size has more than tripled. His efforts often have meant the bank’s business forecasts were surpassed. In 2007, Liberty saw its best year in its 17-year history. The bank beat almost every budget number for expense, led by Mr. Ebner’s work to lower the expense ratio substantially. “He excels in every aspect of his job,” noted Liberty Bank CEO and President Mr. William Valerian.
“He goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to helping an employee, both professionally and personally,” said Mr. Valerian. He called Mr. Ebner responsible for turning a “mediocre institution into one with an excellent reputation for financial records and performance.”
